Halitosis Bad Breath Part 2

Halitosis - There is a Solution!

Here at the office of Dr. Rod Gore and Dr. Erik Svans, we want you to know we care about your dental concerns. One question we commonly hear in our office is: “What can I do about my bad breath?” In part 1 of our blog series on halitosis, we discussed likely causes of bad breath. Today, we want to focus on finding a solution to this embarrassing predicament.

First and foremost, regular checkups with your experienced cosmetic dentist are key. Your dentist can diagnose the cause of halitosis and recommend a course of action to eliminate the problem. Sometimes, halitosis is a sign of a more serious health concern, and you may be referred to a specialist to have the issue addressed. However, more frequently, your dentist may be able to recommend products and/or treatments to reduce the problem.

Excellent oral hygiene is also imperative in keeping bad breath at bay. Daily brushing and flossing can reduce bacteria in the mouth and keep periodontal (gum) disease in check. It is important to remember that technique really matters here! Our kind, gentle hygiene team is happy to educate you on proper brushing and flossing techniques to rid you of your bad breath problem.
